The Deacon Article Submissions
The Deacon is a bimonthly magazine dedicated to serving permanent deacons, diaconal candidates, their families, and all who support diaconal ministry. Published by the National Association of Diaconate Directors (NADD), the magazine participates in NADD’s mission of “supporting deacons, their families and those they serve” by fostering formation, unity, and vitality in the diaconate.
Rooted in the conviction that the diaconate makes present the totus Christus—the “whole Christ”–The Deacon helps readers cultivate an intimate communion with Christ the Servant. Out of this interior life flows effective ministry that enriches the Church’s mission and strengthens the communities deacons are called to serve.
Through quality content that forms, informs, and inspires, The Deacon builds a vibrant community of men and women on fire for Christ and for the diaconate. Radiating joy, the magazine accompanies deacons, deacon candidates, deacon directors, and deacon wives, offering trustworthy resources for learning, reflection, and pastoral practice. In this way, the magazine stands as a concrete expression of NADD’s mission: to support deacons and their families so that, strengthened in faith, they may more fruitfully serve the People of God.
